On%20September%207th%201945%2C%20the%20allied%20nations%20were%20staggered%20by%20Russia%22s%20disclosure%20of%20their%20JS-3%20heavy%20tank%20at%20a%20victory%20parade%20in%20Berlin.%20Although%20coded%20a%20%22JS%22%20(Josef%20Stalin)%20tank%2C%20it%20had%20a%20totally%20different%20appearance%20from%20its%20preceding%20models.%20The%20one-piece%20cast%20turret%20had%20a%20simple%20flattened%20hemispherical%20shape.%20The%20maximum%20thickness%20of%20the%20turret%20armor%20reached%20250mm.%20The%20front%20hull%20was%20constructed%20by%20welding%20three%20120mm%20thick%20armor%20plates%2C%20forming%20a%20shape%20like%20a%20ship%22s%20bow.%20The%20main%20armament%20used%20the%20same%20L%2F43%20122mm%20gun%20as%20the%20JS-2.%20The%20520%20horsepower%20diesel%20engine%20provided%2040km%2Fh%20of%20maximum%20speed.%20With%20the%20concerted%20effort%20of%20the%20talented%20Russian%20tank%20engineers%20such%20as%20N.L.%20Jukhov%20and%20Z.A.%20Kotin%2C%20the%20prototype%20was%20completed%20in%20October%201944%20and%20the%20mass%20production%20began%20in%20the%20following%20year.%20There%20have%20been%20a%20lot%20of%20controversy%20concerning%20whether%20or%20not%20the%20JS-3%20saw%20any%20fighting%20during%20the%20Berlin%20campaign.%20At%20least%20one%20regiment%20was%20equipped%20with%20the%20JS-3%20by%20then%2C%20but%20it%22s%20still%20uncertain%20if%20they%20were%20committed%20to%20the%20actual%20fighting.%20Other%20sources%20claim%20that%20it%20was%20first%20deployed%20in%20combat%20against%20the%20Japanese%20in%20Manchuria%20in%20August%201945.%20Incorporating%20several%20modifications%2C%20its%20production%20was%20continued%20until%201951%20and%20about%201%2C800%20JS-3%22s%20were%20produced.%20Its%20simple%20and%20effective%20turret%20and%20hull%20configuration%20deeply%20influenced%20not%20only%20the%20following%20Russian%20tanks%2C%20but%20also%20fighting%20vehicles%20of%20the%20western%20nations.

Tamiya 35327 BT-7 Model 1937 The BT-7 was a Russian tank that began production in 1935. It incorporated some design features from tanks developed by American engineer Walter Christie. BT stood for ;Bystrokhodny Tank Fast Tank and the tank featured excellent maneuverability. In the fall of 1941, the Russian high command request an mobile artillery vehicle. Under the guidance of engineers V. Sidorenko and N. Usenko, they designed in December 1941 the Object 229 and was the KV-1 Model 1942 armed with an 122 mm U-11 Tank Howitzer. The built of this vehicle took place until April 1942. After successful test, it was accepted as the KV-9. The weight of the tank was 47 tons and it had a crew of four men: two in the turret and two in the hull.
